The purpose of this Memorandum of Understanding (April 24, 2009)
between University of Wyoming State 4-H Program (USA) and
Mongolian 4-H Program (Mongolia) is to formalize a relationship
between Wyoming 4-H and Mongolian 4-H to develop and facilitate
the implementation of the 4-H/Youth Development Program in
Mongolia and to work to create opportunities for international
education and exchange programs.
Mongolian 4-H is a not-for-profit entity of the
country of Mongolia. In collaboration with the Wyoming 4-H
Program, Mongolian 4-H was established to identify, secure, and
manage resources to build and support the 4-H program in
Mongolia. The purpose of the Mongolian 4-H Program, as it is
throughout in the world, is to help youth acquire knowledge,
develop life skills, and form attitudes that will enable them to
become self-directing, productive members of society.
Benefits
The cooperators are dedicated to providing
educational and developmental opportunities for participating
youth and adults. The activities to be undertaken thru this
agreement are in furtherance of the Wyoming 4-H and Mongolian
4-H missions by providing the following benefits:
Further global awareness and inter-cultural
understanding
Development of like skills in youth participants and adult
volunteers
Skill development for work force preparation in a global economy
Develop independent study interests and international
educational opportunities
Improve language skills
Establish a network to further international understanding
through international exchange programs
Responsibilities
The following responsibilities have been
identified and are proposed to be agreed to by both parties:
Jointly work with institutions and non-profits in
the United States and Mongolia to assist in reaching the goals
of this agreement
Provide project based curriculum and resources
Develop curricula appropriate to the goals of the agreement
Train volunteers in 4-H program delivery
Coordinate and involve volunteers in the management, planning,
and operations of cultural youth exchanges
Pursue funding opportunities for the further development of the
4-H program in Wyoming and Mongolia
4-H
is America's largest out-of-school youth education program for
boys and girls. 4-H is a community of young people, across
America and worldwide, learning leadership, citizenship, and
life skills. 4-H
